What If You Don’t Slow Down?
8 Conventional Retirement Assumptions Carnivores and Ketovores May need to Rethink
My wife saved my life — and it has sent us down a path that has changed almost everything about our personal and professional lives.
We eat differently. We workout differently. We plan differently.
I’m resolved to help likeminded carnivores and ketovores do the same as they move into the next chapter.
I’m so excited that you’re interested in that 3rd part — the planning differently part.
Because the truth is, you operate differently than most folks. You read labels carefully. You do your research. You’re skeptical of conventional wisdom.
Brenda and I are the same. We do our due diligence and we don’t use traditional assumptions just because the crowd does.
So, here’s the deal — health is largely overlooked, taken for granted, or treated as a “risk” in retirement planning.
I don’t like that.
I believe we should be preparing for the very real possibility that we might actually be successful in aging differently than the average American.
After all, we don’t eat the standard American diet. We generally have a different approach regarding workouts, sleeping, and intentionality, too.
And that brings up all kinds of retirement planning questions:
What if I’m not planning for a long enough life?
What if my Social Security claiming strategy assumes I’m of average health?
What if my portfolio is positioned for the average person of my age?
